The Old Testament: The first lesson gives a brief overview of the 39 books
of the Old Testament. You will learn about how recent archaeological discoveries have illuminated and verified places and
customs mentioned in the Old Testament that had previously been ridiculed by higher criticism. You will also read some helpful
hints for effective Bible Study.

The New Testament: The second lesson gives a brief overview of the 27 letters
of the New Testament and some information about the writers of these letters. A brief outline of the New Testament is also
included. The inspiration of the Bible is discussed along with how prophecy and scientific foreknowledge, stated in the Bible,
substantiate its claims to be God’s word. For example, did you realize that the Bible spoke of the earth being round
1,500 years before man discovered this to be true?

Rightly
Dividing the Word: In 2 Timothy 2:15 the apostle Paul wrote, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker
who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." The third lesson deals with the important issue
of rightly dividing God's word. It covers the purposes of both the Old and New Testaments; it helps us understand the
differences between the two, and what those differences mean to us today.

Faith and Works: These topics have been the source of great controversy
for centuries. It is imperative that we put aside the teachings of men and see what the word of God says on these important
subjects. Topics covered are: 1) The need for both faith and obedience, and 2) The relationship of faith and works.

Becoming a Christian: Lesson five covers the plan of salvation that is revealed in the
Bible. Using actual accounts of conversion in the scriptures, we find that men have drifted from the plain teachings of the
Bible. If we want to be Christians, we must do what people did in the first century in order to become Christians.

Acceptable Worship: The Bible records various accounts of people who worshipped
God their own way, and suffered God's displeasure for doing so (see Gen.4:1-7; Lev.10:1-3). If we desire to please God,
we must respect Him enough to do what He has commanded. Through the years, men have made countless changes in worship to God,
yet the Bible has not changed. Where is the authority for making these changes? It is not enough to be sincere in our worship.
We must worship as Jesus said in John 4:23-24.

New Testament church: There are many denominations now in existence. In
the New Testament, all people were part of the same church. There were different congregations, but all of them were instructed
to teach, believe and practice the same things. Unity, and various characteristic of the New Testament church are discussed
in this lesson.

You Can Be Just A Christian: The last lesson explains how, even today,
one can be just a Christian. There were not different brands of Christians in the New Testament. All the divisions of modern
denominations are clearly condemned in the Bible (see 1Cor.1:10; 3:1-4). It was foretold in the New Testament that people
would depart from the true teachings of Christ; history has shown that to be true. Many doctrines have been added and many
plain Bible teachings are twisted or ignored by modern denominations. In the Bible, people were just Christians. We can be
just Christians today. This lesson explains how.
